The men in blue had a special cake-cutting ceremony at the ITC Maurya hotel in Delhi. All the players wore blue jerseys that had India Champion written on them. The men in blue are all set to meet Prime Minister Modi as they arrive in Delhi. The special cake made by the chef of the hotel had layers of orange, blue, and white, which represented the colors of the Indian team’s jersey. The cake had a topping of the ICC World Cup, which was won by Team India as they had beaten South Africa in the finals by 7 runs on June 29.
.The staff of the hotel were also present during the cake-cutting ceremony as they cheered for the men in blue who won the T-20 World Cup in the West Indies. Apart from team India’s skipper Rohit Sharma, all the members of the team, like Suryakumar Yadav, Virat Kohli, and Rahul Dravid, were present on the occasion.Â
The men in blue landed in Delhi on July 4 via a charter plane, which was arranged by BCCI. Team India’s skipper Rohit Sharma came out of the airport holding the T-20 trophy in his hand; even Indian batting legend Virat Kohli received a grand welcome from the fans at the airport upon his arrival. Later, players like Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Suryakumar Yadav danced to the beats of Dhol to celebrate the occasion with the fans.
Rohit Sharma and company will meet with PM Modi, after which they will fly to Mumbai from Delhi as they are all set to do a victory parade on the streets of Mumbai, which will start from Marine Drive and end at Wankhede Stadium. The men in blue will end their day with a grand celebration in Wankhede with BCCI officials.
