Rohit Sharma Wins CEAT Men’s International Cricketer of the Year Award

A New Achievement for Rohit Sharma:

Right after making his debut for India, Rohit Sharma became a cricket sensation. With the passing days, he has become one of the legends of Indian cricket. After Virat Kohli stepped down from the captaincy, Rohit Sharma took the helm. Under his captaincy, India lifted the Asia Cup in 2023. After a heartbreak in the 2023 ODI World Cup, they lifted the T20 World Cup trophy in June 2024. 

India captain Rohit Sharma won the Men’s International Cricketer of the Year award for his exceptional performance across formats. In 2023, he scored a total of 1800 international runs, including 1255 runs in ODIs at an average of 52.59. His tally included 597 runs in the ODI World Cup, which was the second-highest of the tournament.

Additionally, Sharma played a crucial role in Team India’s T20 World Cup campaign. He excelled throughout the tournament, scoring 257 runs and making significant contributions to the team’s success. His standout performances in both formats earned him well-deserved recognition.

Rohit Sharma’s Words:

After a devastating heartbreak in the 2023 ODI World Cup, Team India bounced back in the T20 World Cup 2024. After having an exciting group stage and Super Eight stage, they cleared the semifinal stage too. They qualified for the final with an unbeaten streak. 13 years of ICC trophy drought ended with this trophy win. With that win, they lifted the trophy for the second time after 17 years. 

While expressing the thought of bringing back the trophy home, captain Rohit Sharma said, “Can’t express the feeling in words, it was great to bring the Trophy back home & celebrate with the fans.”

While talking about the upcoming goals, Rohit said, “We will keep pushing, we will look to achieve more, even my team-mates will agree & the next couple of years will be exciting as well”.
