Virat Kohli lit up Ranchi with his 52nd ODI hundred in the first match against South Africa, and his celebration sparked something even louder from the Indian dugout.
Kohli reached the milestone with a punch through the covers, and the camera quickly shifted to Rohit Sharma, who burst into wild cheers. He clapped hard, jumped from his seat, and let out a few abuses in pure excitement. The clip spread across social media within minutes, with fans laughing at the raw and honest reaction.

India got off to a confident start after being asked to bat by Aiden Markram. Ruturaj Gaikwad opened, while Tilak Varma did not make the XI for this game. Kohli settled in early and looked in full control through most of his innings.
He added 136 runs with Rohit for the second wicket. Their stand kept India ahead in the game and eased the pressure created by the early movement. Rohit looked set for a big knock too but was trapped in front by Marco Jansen in the 22nd over.
Kohli stayed positive even after Rohit’s dismissal. He timed the ball sweetly and kept rotating the strike. His shots down the ground drew loud cheers from the Ranchi crowd. His century came at a time when India needed stability after a tough Test series loss.
Kohli was finally dismissed for 135 from 120 balls. He tried to slap a wide one past point but ended up picking out Ryan Rickelton. His walk back was met with a standing ovation.
This ODI series is the start of India’s white ball rebound. The teams now move to Raipur for the second match on December 3 and then to Visakhapatnam on December 6. A five match T20I leg will follow.
