After a long break, Team India is back in the longest format. They are facing Bangladesh in the first Test match of the two-match Test series. After winning the toss, Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto opted to bowl first. As India took the field to bat first, the excitement reach high. In the fourth over, Rohit Sharma’s survival grabbed the attention.
In the fourth over, Hasan Mahmud came to bowl and Rohit Sharma was on strike. Mahmud delivered a fuller ball that seamed back in, catching Rohit Sharma off guard. Rohit, attempting a drive, showed minimal foot movement and was struck on the back leg. The ball brushed the front pad before hitting him, leading to a strong lbw appeal. Umpire Rod Tucker, however, turned down the appeal.
UltraEdge confirmed there was no bat involved. Ball-tracking indicated the ball was clipping the top of the middle stump, which is considered an “umpire’s call.” As a result, Rohit Sharma was fortunate to survive this close call.

Rohit Walked Away:
After the survival, Rohit played some good shots and India got a few runs quickly. But in the first delivery of the 6th over turned out to be a setback moment for India. Skipper Rohit Sharma was on strike and Hasan Mahmud came to bowl again.
Mahmud bowled a good-length delivery around off that slightly seamed away. Rohit tried to defend with soft hands, but the ball found the outside edge of his bat. It flew towards the second slip, where Shanto crouched and took a clean catch with both hands. Rohit Sharma departed scoring 6 runs in 19 balls. In the 9th over, Team India is 34/2.
