Ronda Rousey Vs Gina Carano Set To Headline Debut Netflix MMA Event

Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano will collide in a blockbuster main event for Netflix’s debut MMA event on May 16.

In assocation with Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), Neflix will be putting on an absolutely huge card later this year featuring the mixed martial arts returns of both Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano. Rousey last competed nearly ten years ago in a one-sided TKO defeat to Amanda Nunes, whereas Carano’s last fight took place all the way back in August 2009 when she was also beaten by TKO, but in this instance, by Cris Cyborg.

Ronda Rousey went on to enjoy a stint in professional wrestling, most notably with WWE, with rumors circulating in recent months that she could be preparing for a return to mixed martial arts. As for Carano, she made her way into the acting world, only for her most notable role in The Mandalorian to come to an end in controversial fashion back in 2021.

Netflix released the following statement confirming that Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano will go down at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California in a five-round featherweight battle.

As you can imagine, the MMA world is already buzzing at the news that both Rousey and Carano will be venturing back into the cage. While there’s no telling what both are going to look like given how long it’s been since we have seen them, you can bet that there are going to be plenty of eyes on this contest.

As of this writing, it’s not yet known who will be part of the rest of the card, but we would imagine that announcements will be coming thick and fast in the weeks to come as the anticipation starts to build.
