Several quality players have come to the international stage and made their debuts for India in recent times across formats. The sheer skillsets they have shown are remarkable, and their ability to learn and adapt quickly has been a noticeable aspect.

Among the many impressive players has been Rinku Singh, who performed at every possible chance and sealed his place in the shortest format with authority. Despite doing a tough job of batting at different positions in the middle and lower middle order, Rinku has been consistent and played according to the team’s requirements.

On Colors Cineplex, former India player RP Singh has admitted he didn’t expect Rinku to make such a big impact on cricket. He termed Rinku “very gritty”.

“When he became a part of the UP team at the start, firstly it’s not easy to play for the UP team, and playing and giving performances is even more difficult. You need to be slightly mentally tough because it’s a big state and has a lot of players. To be honest, when he came to play for UP at the start, I didn’t think he would have such a big impact on cricket. I knew he was a very gritty player, fields very well, puts in the effort all the time, and tries to play big innings.”

Rinku Singh played a crucial role in the second T20I vs Bangladesh

He scored a brilliant 53 in 29 balls, including five boundaries and three maximums, at a strike rate of 182.76. Even though his team was in trouble, Rinku played his shots and put the pressure back on the opponent.
