Rajasthan Royals (RR) showed pure dominance over Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 7 as Riyan Parag’s men registered a 27-run victory in Guwahati in the ongoing IPL 2026.

Former South Africa cricketer Faf du Plessis, while speaking to JioStar, claimed that RR “were superior to MI in all three departments.” He further added that “It was a great effort by the Rajasthan Royals. They didn’t miss a beat.”
Talking about the opening partnership of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, and the bowling performance, Faf stated, “The way they came in and hit their lengths was beautiful to watch, and who can forget that opening partnership? The two youngsters at the top are really taking this IPL by storm.”

Batting first in a revised 11-over clash, RR posted 150/3, driven by a stunning 77 off 32 balls from Yashasvi Jaiswal, who struck 10 fours and four sixes. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi added a rapid 39 off 14, as the opening duo dominated from the start.

In reply, MI were restricted to 123/9 despite late efforts from Sherfane Rutherford and Naman Dhir, who scored 25 each. The RR bowling unit, led by Ravi Bishnoi and Sandeep Sharma with two wickets each, kept control throughout. Jaiswal was named Player of the Match.

The Rajasthan Royals remain unbeaten and currently sit at the top of the points table with an NRR of +2.403, while the Mumbai Indians are seventh with an NRR of -0.715.
