In the recent ICC T20I rankings that released on Wednesday July 10th, Ruturaj Gaikwad came back to the top 10 with ease having risen 13 places high. After he scored 77 runs that won the second T20I versus Zimbabwe held at Harare then he moved to the seventh position. For his first ever century registered in international cricket during his second match for the senior national team, Abhishek went on a six-hitting binge and smacked eight huge ones.

Ruturaj Gaikwad was not selected for the T20 World Cup team but his efforts earned him a place owing to merit in Australia where he scored an unbeaten 123 against them making this his debut century at this level while representing his team Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
