Legendary player Sachin Tendulkar, also known as ‘God of Cricket’, is set to play in six-nation tournament featuring stars from across the world. India, Australia, South Africa, West Indies, England, and Sri Lanka will be the six nations to compete in the annual International Masters League (IML). The competitions thrives to bring back memories and bring fresh battles by bringing some of best players in history of cricket back to life.
The comeback of Sachin Tendulkar is expected to excite millions of fans who have been looking up for the Master Blaster to work his magic. Legendary Sunil Gavaskar has been named as the League Commissioner. The games are set to be held in Raipur, Lucknow, and Mumbai.
When discussing about the tournament, Sachin said how he wanted to see some of his rivals resurface and show their skills once again.
“Cricket continues to grow in popularity not just in India, but across the world. In the last decade, T20 cricket has accelerated its adoption and has drawn new fans into the game. There is now a strong desire among fans across ages, to re-witness age-old battles in newer formats,” said Sachin Tendulkar.
Sachin has been away from international matches since 2013, but when he was in action, he was regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. Sachin mentioned that sportsmen are never completely done and always have the desire to compete with others.
“Sportspersons never retire at heart and the competitive streak within waits for an opportunity to get back on the field. We have conceived the International Masters League as a meeting point for passionate fans and competitive cricketers. I am certain all players participating will get back into the groove and prepare hard. When we represent our countries, we all want to play top-quality cricket and try to win,” he added.
