Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan said that his team will go in with a positive mindset against India in their next match of the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 and play aggressive cricket. His remarks came after Pakistan registered their second win of the tournament against the USA.
During the post-match presentation ceremony, when asked about the clash against India, scheduled to be played on February 15, Farhan said:
“We’ll go in with the same mindset as we did in our previous matches against India, including the Asia Cup. We’ll try to stay positive and play attacking cricket.”
On Monday, Pakistan confirmed that they will take the field against India after days of uncertainty.
Farhan has a good record against India. In his short career so far, the right-handed batter has scored 155 runs in three matches, which includes an innings of 57 in the Asia Cup final last year.
Opening the batting, Farhan once again stood out for his team with another fine knock. He scored 73 off 41 balls, including six fours and five sixes, at a strike rate of 178.05. Courtesy of his innings, Pakistan got off to a strong start, and alongside Saim Ayub he added 54 runs for the first wicket. He then stitched together another important partnership of 81 runs off 52 balls with Babar Azam, who scored 46. These two partnerships laid the foundation for a competitive total for Pakistan.
Chasing 191, apart from Shubham Ranjane (51) and Shayan Jahangir (49), none of the other USA batters showed much resistance as Pakistan won the match by 32 runs. Usman Tariq picked up three wickets.
