Sami Zayn is your new WWE United States Champion, after dethroning Carmelo Hayes during the latest episode of WWE SmackDown.
Despite being a popular face for years, Zayn’s win has angered fans, with many arguing that Hayes should not have lost this close to WrestleMania.
On Twitter, Zayn shared his appreciation to the fans, seemingly unaware or ignoring the thousands of dislikes his win has accumulated on YouTube.
Zayn will now defend the United States Championship at WrestleMania 42 against Trick Williams, in what will be the latter’s WrestleMania debut.
This decision has caused more anger, with many arguing that Hayes should be involved in WrestleMania after proving himself to be a fighting champion.
