Sanju Samson Named Kerala Captain for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

Sanju Samson has been appointed as the captain of the Kerala team for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 tournament. The announcement was made on November 19, just days before the tournament kicks off on November 23. Kerala’s squad also includes experienced players like Sachin Baby, Vishnu Vinod, and Basil Thampi. However, veteran all-rounder Jalaj Saxena is the only guest player.

Sanju Samson’s Stellar International Form

Sanju Samson’s appointment as captain comes on the back of stellar performances in international cricket. The 30-year-old played a crucial role in India’s 3-1 T20I series win against South Africa, scoring two centuries in four matches. His explosive 103 in the series opener earned him the Player of the Match award, underlining his match-winning capabilities.

After successful stints against South Africa and Bangladesh, Samson returns to the domestic circuit. This marks his first appearance since representing India D in the Duleep Trophy earlier this year.
