Sanju Samson smacks maiden T20i Century and helps India in destroying Bangladesh in the 3rd T20i: Indian Wicket-keeper Batsman Sanju Samson repaid the faith shown in his skills as a batters by the Indian Team-management as he smashed his maiden T20 International century in the 3rd T20 International versus Bangladesh in Hyderabad.
After failing to capitalise on the starts he got in the first two matches of the series, Sanju silenced his critics and stepped in fantastic fashion in the series-finale in the city of Hyderabad, on Saturday, 12th of October. The 29-year-old became the first Indian-batsman to smack a T20 International century versus the Tiger, reaching the milestone in 40 deliveries.
It was also the 2nd-quickest century in the shortest format of the game by an Indian Cricketer. Sanju’s century in 40 balls is only behind Indian Captain Rohit Sharma’s record of a 35-ball-century, which was scored versus Sri Lanka in the city of Indore in 2017.
The Rajasthan Royals captain also went past Rohit’s score of 89 runs, which was the previous highest score amassed by an Indian versus the Tigers in T20 Cricket.
Sanju looked determined to cement his place in the team from the very 1st ball as the Men in Blue elected to bat first. His inning of 111 runs included nine fours and eight maximums by the time he brought up his maiden hundred.
The 29-year-old looked absolutely thrilled as he removed his helmet & received all of the happy applause from the Hyderabad crowd. The RR skipper gave a warm hug to his captain Suya, who was on the other end witnessing the havoc wreaked by his teammate.
in the end, the total of 298 runs proved to be too much for Bangladesh as the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led team lost the series-finale by 133 runs and got white-washed in the series 0-3.
