Sanju Samson’s father blames these three captains for destroying his son’s career

A footage capturing an astonishing statement made by Sanju Samson’s father, Samson Viswanath, has circulated on the internet. In the clip, which has gone viral, Shahin’s father has gone on a rant blaming former captains of India MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for ruining a decade of his son Samson’s international career. He also blamed previous team India head coach Rahul Dravid, whom Samson considered to be his idol while growing up. Though Erik recently became the first cricketer to score two consecutive centuries in T20Is, he remained on the bench for a long time until Rohit and Virat revealed their retirements from T20Is this year.

“There are 3-4 people who wasted 10 years of my son’s vital career…captains like Dhoni ji, Virat [Kohli] ji, Rohit [Sharma] ji and coach [Rahul] Dravid ji. These four people wasted 10 years of my son’s life but the more they hurt him, the stronger Sanju came out of the crisis,” Viswanath told Malayali news outlet Media One.

Samson also performed brilliantly when he was a part of the Indian T20 World Cup winning squad in the earlier half of the year. however, he could not participate in even one game as he showed no promise in the available warm-up matches.

He was then dropped from the white-ball tour of Sri Lanka, marking the start of Gautam Gambhir’s campaign as the new head coach of the team, as he took over from Dravid after the T20 World Cup held this year.

Not only the captain of the India T20I team, Suryakumar Yadav, but also Gambhir has put their trust in Samson, a player who rewarded them by hitting consecutive centuries against Bangladesh and South Africa.

Samson recently shared that Suryakumar referred to the fact that he would be opening the batting in the subsequent seven T20Is, and that he would have his complete trust, regardless of the outcome of the matches played.

“While playing in the Duleep Trophy, Surya came to me and said, ‘You have the next seven matches. You’ll be opening in these seven matches, and I’ll back you no matter what.’ For the first time in my career, I received such clarity, which gave me confidence. The team management has been clear for the last few matches I’ll be opening”.
