Thurman, 31-1 (23 KOs), is a 37-year-old from Florida. He is a former unified welterweight titleholder whose reign as the WBA’s primary beltholder began in 2016. He notched victories over Shawn Porter, Danny Garcia in a unification bout to add the WBC title, and Josesito Lopez. Thurman was stripped of the WBC belt between the Garcia and Lopez fights, as he was off for nearly two years while recovering from an injury. Thurman then lost the WBA belt via split decision to Manny Pacquiao in 2019.
