Indian captain for the T20I team, Suryakumar Yadav, is going to join Mumbai squad for the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024. The star batter has missed the opening matches due to personal reasons, but now he is reportedly going to join his home team for their much-important match against Hyderabad.
The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has already announced the 17-member squad for the ongoing tournament. As far as it goes for Suryakumar, he has been added to the team under Shreyas Iyer or the ongoing event. Suryakumar had earlier played one game in the last moment of Ranji Trophy against Maharashtra, and even scored seven runs in the first inning.
According to Times of India, the star batter has been added to the Mumbai squad for the upcoming fixture of Tuesday, December 3. It is, however, going to be that the Indian skipper will be playing under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer.
“He has informed us that he is willing to play the last T20 game and MCA has added his name. He will be flying on Monday,” said a source in the MCA.
The star Indian batter had recently led India in the four match T20I series against South Africa, where the Men In Blue registered a 3-1 series victory against the Proteas.
