India D’s batter Ricky Bhui made a century in their chase, but could not escape defeat to India A in 4th Day of the second round of Duleep Trophy 2024. The wickets by Tanush Kotian and Shams Mulani helped India A bowl out Shreyas Iyer’s side for 301, and won the match by 186 runs.

As the day started with a score of 62/1, opener Yash Dubey got dismissed bizarrely. Dubey was ran out by Mulani. Bhui’s shot deflected off the non-striker’s bat and Mulani got him short of crease. This was followed by Mulani bowling an excellent delivery from around the wicket which beat Devdutt on his drive, and hit the stumps.

Bhui and Iyer shared a partnership of 53 runs where Iyer scored 41 runs in 55 balls, which included 8 fours. Iyer missed the length and got bowled out by Mulani. Since he got dismissed in the first innings, wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson opted for the attacking strategy.

Samson got dismissed by Mulani as well. His 40 runs in 45 balls included 3 fours and 3 sixes. Kotian joined in and dismissed Saransh jain. Bhui’s resistance was ended by Kotian. He scored 113 runs fron 195 balls which included 14 fours and 3 sixes. Saurabh Kumar and Harshit Rana got stars but also fell Kotian. Riyan Parag got the wicket of Vidwath Kavappera and wrapped up the innings with his three-ball duck.
