Simagic’s range-topping 28 Nm direct drive wheelbase nears release

Simagic’s 28 Nm Alpha Evo Ultra looks set to be released next week, becoming its new flagship direct drive wheelbase in the process.

  • Simagic Alpha Evo Ultra to feature 18 Nm of torque
  • Will sit at the very top of Simagic’s direct drive wheelbases offerings
  • Possible release coming on 12th March

Chinese hardware manufacturer Simagic has teased the release of its latest wheelbase, the Alpha Evo Ultra.

Simagic previously revealed that the 28 Nm wheelbase would sit atop its previous Alpha Evo product, the 18 Nm Alpha Evo Pro, and feature the same zero-cogging technology.

The front section of the new wheelbase will also feature a similar circular RGB light that can be tailored via telemetry to display when traction control or ABS is triggered, as well as when active cooling is engaged.

The Pro previously impressed us with its detailed feedback and competitive pricing, key pillars of Simagic’s previous equipment roster. With a 10 Nm torque upgrade, we expect the Ultra to turn everything up to 11.

Some fans may be surprised to see another wheelbase from Simagic, considering this will be its fourth in the space of a year, but 28 Nm represents a step towards the upper echelons of sim racing hardware, competing with the likes of Accuforce, Simucube and Asetek.

Frustration also surrounds the continued absence of the firm’s much-vaunted magnetic digital display units, which are compatible with the Alpha Evo range.

Further information on the Alpha Evo Ultra is expected on 12th March, 2026, at 15:00 UTC, which could possibly also be its release date.
