In the Sky Sports F1 podcast’s ultimate season review, all but one pundit chose Max Verstappen as the best driver of the season. Bernie Collins did not pick world champion Lando Norris either.
Four pundits ranked their top ten drivers of the 2025 season. Ted Kravitz, former F1 driver Karun Chandhok and Simon Lazenby all picked Verstappen as the best driver of the season after winning eight Grands Prix and missing out on the world title by just two points after a stunning comeback.
Strategy analyst Collins picked Oscar Piastri as her best driver of the season. The Australian driver finished third in the drivers’ standings after spending much of the year in the lead.
Newly crowned world champion Norris finished second on Kravitz and Collins’ lists, and third for Chandhok and Lazenby, behind George Russell. The four for unanimously included these four drivers for the pundits. Charles Leclerc completed the top five for everyone but Lazenby, who opted for new Red Bull Racing driver Isack Hadjar.
Notably, Lewis Hamilton did not make the top 10 in any of the pundits’ rankings.
