“So far we have…”Steve Smith makes a massive revelation about his retirement plans

Australian cricketer Steve Smith, who is known for his batting skills, has said that he doesn’t plan to stop playing cricket anytime soon. He has signed a long-term contract to play in the Big Bash League (BBL) with the Sydney Sixers.

The 35-year-old has agreed to a three-year deal with the Sixers. He might also play four BBL games during the summer at home, between the last test match against India and the trip to Sri Lanka.

Smith didn’t make the team for the Twenty20 World Cup in the United States and the Caribbean, but he still wants to play in all types of games.

“I don’t have any specific plans, I’m just having fun playing right now. I’m quite calm and I’m excited for this summer,” he said to reporters on Tuesday.

“I believe I’ll play in some games in the Big Bash League this year and then we’ll decide what to do next. I take every opportunity I get.”

After David Warner retired from test matches following the series against Pakistan last summer, Smith took over as the opener for Australia in the series against West Indies and New Zealand.

He scored 171 runs in eight innings with an average of 28.25, which is much lower than his career average of 56.97.

Smith mentioned that he doesn’t know if he will be the opener for the five-test series against India, which begins on November 22 at Perth Stadium. However, he hinted that his teammates would prefer him to play at number four, where he has spent most of his test career.

“So far, we’ve talked about going to England, where the boys will play in the T20 matches, and I’ll be there for the one-day games. After that, we’ll decide what’s next,” he explained.

“These discussions are going on behind the scenes. I read some remarks from Usman Khawaja, who mentioned he likes me batting at number four, and Marnus Labuschagne seems to think the same way.

“I’m fine with whatever position I play. I’ll bat anywhere the team needs me to.”
