India star batter Virat Kohli broke several records with his century against Australia in Perth. The 36-year-old scored his first Test century in 491 days to help India post a mammoth total of 487/6. The Men in Blue declared as soon as Kohli completed his century and have set up a target of 534 runs for the hosts.
The batter really needed this century after an extended slump in form saw him perform poorly on many occasions especially in Test cricket for over a year. Kohli last scored a Test century back in July of 2023 against West Indies in Port of Spain.
With this ton, Kohli completed 30 centuries in red-ball cricket and overtook Australia legend Sir Don Bradman, who scored 29 Test tons in his illustrious career. He also became the Indian batter with the most Test centuries in Australia with 7, overtaking Sachin Tendulkar, who scored 6 tons Down Under.
Following the heroic century, social media couldn’t help but praise Kohli for finally ending his Test century drought and also breaking tons of records with the fabulous knock.
