Solomon Islands to Host First Pacific Level 1 Sitting Volleyball Course < World ParaVolleyWorld ParaVolley

In partnership with the Solomon Islands National Paralympic Committee (SINPC), World ParaVolley is proud to announce the first Pacific-region Level 1 Coaching Course for sitting volleyball in late March.  Designed for club coaches and national team assistants, this certification marks a major milestone in developing coaching capacity across the region and in turn offering more opportunities for people to enjoy ParaVolley.

This practical Part B element of the Level 1 programme delivers hands-on learning, technical refinement and team-centred coaching skills within a dynamic, supportive environment.

The course will be delivered in English and is open to participants who have completed the required e-learning to 80% completion by the deadline of one month before the start of the practical (22/02/2026). 

The Level 1 coaching qualification equips coaches with the essential skills to lead training sessions, understand key technical principles, and support athlete development in sitting volleyball — playing a vital role in growing the game worldwide.

COURSE DATES

Arrival: Sunday 22 March 2026 (by 18:00 local)
Course Delivery Days: 23rd, 24th and 25th March 2026
Departure: 25th March 2026 (after 16:00 local)

COURSE FEE

  • 260 AUD to Solomon Islands National Paralympic Committee (SINPC) – which covers tuition, course materials, accommodation, meals, and local transport.
  • Participants are responsible for their own international travel and any visa costs (where required).
  • Those who have not yet started their Part A e-learning will also need to pay the 100 EUR Course Registration Fee to World ParaVolley – however eligible nations can get this reduced to 50 EUR

VENUE

Multi-purpose training halls at the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport, Honiara which offers excellent indoor facilities suited to both practical sessions and group workshops.

COURSE TUTOR

The practical course will be led by WPV Coach Tutor Aaron Alsop, an experienced coach educator with extensive expertise in adaptive sport coaching and ParaVolley development. Aaron’s role as tutor reinforces the commitment to high-quality education rooted in both theory and practice.

This course is ideal for:

  • Active sitting volleyball coaches looking to attain official certification and broaden their practical coaching skills
  • Aspiring coaches wanting to deepen their technical and tactical knowledge
  • Coaches who have completed Part A e-learning, or are nearing completion
  • Individuals who want to contribute to the growth of ParaVolley in the Pacific region

Those who sign-up but do not complete the required e-learning element can still attend but will not be eligible to receive their diploma certificate until the e-learning is finished.

This course represents a significant step in building local coaching expertise, expanding the competitive environment, and strengthening sitting volleyball throughout the Pacific. It also supports the broader development goals of inclusive sport and competitive excellence in the region.
