South Africa bounced back in New Chandigarh with a dominant 51-run victory thanks to stellar performances from Quinton de Kock and Ottniel Baartman.

The visitors made three changes, with Tristan Stubbs, Keshav Maharaj, and Anrich Nortje making way for Reeza Hendricks, George Linde, and Ottneil Baartman.

After losing the toss and being put into bat, the Proteas were dominant throughout their innings, thanks to both incredible batting and poor bowling.

Quinton de Kock delivered a phenomenal batting display, smashing the Indian attack all around the ground. He scored 90 off just 46 balls, including seven 6s and five 4s, finishing with a 195.65 strike rate.

Indian bowlers struggled, with only Varun Chakravarthy (2–29) and Axar Patel (1–27) taking wickets. Arshdeep Singh was very expensive, as he conceded 54 runs in his 4 overs.

They also bowled a total of 22 extras.

The Proteas set a very competitive total, scoring 213 for the loss of 4 wickets from their 20 overs.

South Africa carried its strong batting form into its bowling, performing well in both innings. The team took five wickets in the first 10 overs, putting the hosts in a very difficult position.

Tilak Virma was the only Indian batter who got into the game. He scored 62 from 34, hitting two 4s and five 6s with a strike rate of 182.35.

Coach Shukri’s decision to bring Baartman into the team proved to be the right choice, as Baartman was excellent with the ball. He took 4-24, which was pivotal in the Proteas’ 51-run win.

The other wicket takers were Marco Jansen (2-25), Lungi Ngidi (2-26), and Lutho Sipamla (2-46).
