South Delhi Triumphs Over Central Delhi via DLS Method

South Delhi Superstarz defeated Central Delhi Queens by 17 runs (DLS method) in the Women’s Delhi Premier League here on Friday thanks to Shweta Sehrawat’s fast-paced, undefeated 44.

Rain stopped play in the 12th over, but Sehrawat’s 44 off 36 balls had already taken Superstarz to 85 for one, comfortably ahead of the DLS par total.

Neha Chillar’s undefeated cameo of 24 off 14 balls and Vandana Chaturvedi’s 34 off 29 balls earlier in the game helped Central Delhi Queens post 127 for seven in their 20 overs.

In response, Sehrawat and Chhavi Gupta gave the Superstarz a cautious start.

They amassed 71 runs after 10 overs, keeping the scoreboard ticking over with punctual boundaries.

Nevertheless, Gupta managed to score 32 off 32 balls before being removed in the next over.

When play was suspended after 12 overs due to rain, South Delhi was leading by a comfortable margin (85/1).

The DLS technique was used to award them the victory because play could not be resumed before the deadline.

Brief Scores: Central Delhi Queens: 127/7 in 20 overs (Vandana Chaturvedi 35, Neha Chillar 24 not out; Tanisha Singh 2/7) lost to South Delhi Superstarz: 85/1 in 12 overs (Shweta Sehrawat 44 not out, Chhavi Gupta 32).
