A special flight arranged by Air India has landed at Barbados Airport to take the winning Indian cricket team back home after they won the T20 World Cup 2024. The team was stuck in the country because Hurricane Beryl caused a lot of damage in the Caribbean islands.
Considering the dangerous effects of the hurricane, the team was told to stay in their hotels and they have been in the country since their win on June 29th. Now that the weather has improved in Barbados, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has organized a special flight for the team to go back home.
The Indian cricket team, known as the Men in Blue, is scheduled to board a flight later today and is expected to arrive in Delhi early in the morning. Upon their arrival, they will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister had previously congratulated the team on their significant victory with a phone call.
Jay Shah, the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has also arranged for the Indian media personnel who are currently in Barbados to return home with the cricket team.
