Tottenham Hotspur boss Igor Tudor will hope to see his side return to winning ways when they host Crystal Palace on Thursday evening.

The Croatian was named as the Lilywhites’ interim head coach until the end of the season last month following the departure of Thomas Frank, but he has endured a tough start to his tenure.

Tudor has so far overseen defeats against both Arsenal and Fulham, and the ex-Juventus man will hope to pick up his first victory when his side entertain Palace in another London derby on Thursday.

In the meantime, it appears that Spurs are set to be dealt a blow in their pursuit of an in-demand Bundesliga attacker.

As per Football Insider, Tottenham are likely to face an ‘uphill battle’ in the race to land RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande.

It is claimed that Spurs are one of several sides that are keeping tabs on the Ivorian, who is enjoying a sensational debut season in Germany.

Diomande, 19, joined Leipzig from Spanish side Leganes last summer and has so far registered a combined 17 goals and assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.

It is claimed that, despite Spurs’ interest in the player, the north London side are unlikely to land Diomande largely due to their imminent failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Spurs currently sit 16th in the Premier League table and are 22 points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa in the race for a top four finish, although the English top flight could benefit from an additional fifth qualification place next term depending on clubs’ performances in Europe this season.

Manchester United, Liverpool, and Germany champions Bayern Munich are all said to be interested in the Ivory Coast international, giving Tottenham very little chance of persuading the player to move to north London.
