Tottenham Hotspur travel north to face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Thomas Frank’s side followed up a win over Brentford in their last league outing with an impressive 3-0 victory against Slavia Prague in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

Spurs currently sit 11th in the Premier League table, but victory against Forest on Sunday could lift them as high as fifth if certain other results go their way.

Now, it has emerged that one member of Frank’s squad – who will face his former side on Sunday – could leave London next year.

According to TEAMtalk, forward Brennan Johnson could leave Tottenham next year having failed to win over members of the club’s coaching staff.

The report claims that the Welshman hasn’t yet convinced Frank’s staff that he is capable of establishing himself as a regular started in North London, especially with Spurs planning to recruit in attack over the next two transfer windows.

Johnson, 24, joined Tottenham from Nottingham Forest for a fee of £47.5 million back in 2023 and has since made more than 100 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 27 goals and providing 18 assists.

The Wales international has made 19 appearances so far this term but has only started six of Spurs’ 15 Premier League games, and it appears that he could be allowed to leave the club in 2026.

Johnson is contracted to the Lilywhites until the end of the 2027/28 season, having signed a long-term deal when he joined the North London side from Forest two years ago.

It is claimed that, while Spurs are assessing other options and could look to offload Johnson, the player himself is likely to be keen to stay put in North London.
