Igor Tudor will aim to oversee his first Premier League victory as interim head coach of Tottenham Hotspur when his side face Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon.

The Croat took charge of Spurs last month on an interim basis until the end of the season, but guided his side to four consecutive defeats at the start of his tenure, three of which were in the Premier League.

That run of form left Spurs in contention to be relegated from the top flight, but a hard-fought 1-1 draw against reigning champions Liverpool last weekend slightly eased their woes.

The Lilywhites then beat Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday night – despite exiting the competition on aggregate – and Tudor will be desperate to see his side build on that when they face relegation rivals Forest.

In the meantime, it appears that Spurs have identified a prolific striker as a target ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

Football Insider claims that the north London outfit are showing interest in Juventus forward Jonathan David as they hunt for attacking reinforcements.

David, 26, scored 109 goals in 232 games for French side Lille before joining Juventus last summer, but has netted just seven times since arriving in Turin.

David has started only 16 of Juventus’ 29 Serie A matches so far this term, although he has featured more regularly in the absence of Dusan Vlahovic.

The report claims that Spurs are long-term admirers of the Canada international and considered making a move to sign the player prior to his free transfer to the Old Lady last year.

Tottenham have retained their interest in the forward, and could make a move to sign him this summer amid ongoing uncertainty surrounding his future in Turin.

David’s contract with the Serie A giants is set to run until the end of the 2029/30 campaign, but it appears that he could leave the club prior to then if he continues to struggle to force his way into the starting line-up.
