Sri Lanka makes two massive changes in their line-up ahead of the Second test

England and Srilanka once again are all set to tussle against one another at the Lord’s. After winning the first test of the series England will look to seal the series by winning this crucial test.

On the other hand onus will be on Srilanka to win this second test to stay alive in the series. Ahead of the game Srilanka have announced their playing 11 as the Lankan Lions have made two important changes in their line ups to change their fortunes.

Srilanka have brought Lahiru Kumara and Pathum Nissanka in place Vishwa Fernando and kusal Mendis. Kusal Mendis had a forgetful outing in the first test of the series as the wicketkeeper batter was dismissed on 24 and 0 across the two innings.

He has been replaced by Pathum Nissanka who last played a test match for Srilanka way back in 2022 , the top order batter averages 38 in the red ball format. Apart from this left-arm pacer Vishwa Fernando has been replaced by Lahiru Kumara.

These two changes hint at the possibility of veteran batter Dinesh Chandimal fulfilling the keeping duties for Srilanka. Chandimal playing this match is a major boost for the Lankan Lions as the veteran wicketkeeper was struck on his hand by Mark wood in the first test. However Chandimal Showed resilience in the second innings scoring 79 runs of 229 balls.

On the other hand England have also made one change in their line-up as Mark wood has been ruled out of the entire series due to injury,he has been replaced by Olly Stone.

Sri Lanka playing eleven for the second Test: Dimuth Karunaratne, Nishan Madushka, Pathum Nissanka, Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal, Dhananjaya de Silva (c), Kamindu Mendis, Prabath Jayasuriya, Asitha Fernando, Lahiru Kumara and Milan Rathnayake.
