7 – It was only in their seventh home Test, Sri Lanka was able to win a Test match and it came versus India at P Sara Oval. This was their first Test win ever and their first series win.

Sri Lanka has beaten all the Test playing nations in a Test series at home. This includes winning against Afghanistan in a one-off Test match recently.

Innings and 280 runs: This is their biggest margin of win at home and they achieved against Ireland at Galle in 2023. Likewise, SL’s biggest margin in terms of runs is 315 against Zimbabwe at the same venue back in 2002.

On the contrary, their biggest defeat at home came in 2023, when they lost by an innings and 222 runs against Pakistan at Colombo and biggest loss by runs is 304 runs against India at Galle in 2017.
