StarLadder LORGAR Format Explained
Revealed on February 26th, the tournament is open to Eastern European countries and is split into open national qualifiers, closed qualifiers, and a LAN finals. Using the FACEIT platform, the open qualifiers take place from March 12th to 15th, with the top two teams from each eligible nation advancing to the closed qualifiers.
April’s Valve Regional Standings (VRS) will decide the top four teams receiving direct invitations to compete in the tournament.
From March 20th to April 10th, the remaining teams compete online in a GSL Group Stage followed by a double-elimination Play-In where eight teams will book their place at the LAN finals.
A venue in the Schengen Area will host the LAN finals from April 25th to 26th, where a best-of-three single-elimination bracket decides the eventual champion.

StarLadder’s Tier 2 Growth
In addition to hosting high-profile Tier 1 tournaments, StarLadder has recently expanded its presence within Counter-Strike’s rapidly growing Tier 2 scene. In January, it joined forces with online casino and sports betting platform Stake to launch Stake Ranked, a $100,000 (~£74,068) event circuit taking place throughout the year.
Elsewhere, other tournament organisers have launched Tier 2 tournaments with sizable prize pools, attracting several teams looking to earn enough VRS points to qualify for the Majors. March will see the inaugural BC.Game Masters take place, with 24 teams competing for $50,000 and the aim of climbing up the global standings.
Partnering with LORGAR is a continuation of StarLadder’s commitment to developing Tier 2 Counter-Strike into a viable circuit with regular opportunities for smaller teams to compete.
