Gujarat Titans registered a commanding 7-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 19 of the Indian Premier League 2025, held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Chasing a modest target of 153, the Titans sealed the win in just 16.4 overs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, after being put in to bat, posted 152/8 in their 20 overs. Opener Travis Head got off to a brisk start, scoring 8, while Ishan Kishan chipped in with 17. The standout performance came from Heinrich Klaasen, who smashed 27 off 19, supported briefly by Nitish Reddy, 31 off 34. However, Hyderabad struggled to string together significant partnerships as Mohammed Siraj (4/17) ran through the batting lineup with a fiery spell. Sai Kishore (2/24) and Prasidh Krishna (2/25) were equally impressive with the ball.
In response, Gujarat Titans overcame an early hiccup, losing Sai Sudharsan (5 runs) and Jos Buttler (0) cheaply. But skipper Shubman Gill anchored the chase with a classy 61* off 43 deliveries, showcasing exquisite timing and placement. He was well-supported by Washington Sundar and Sherfane Rutherford.
With this win, Gujarat Titans notched up their third victory, climbing to the second spot on the points table. It also marked their fourth consecutive win over Sunrisers Hyderabad.
