Steph Curry will miss Thursday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers, meaning he and LeBron James won’t meet at all this season – only the second time that’s happened since 2009.

Their long-standing rivalry has included dozens of regular-season and playoff matchups, along with a shared Olympic gold in 2024.

The Warriors star guard had been questionable as he continues recovering from a knee injury that sidelined him since January 30.

With Golden State managing his minutes on a back-to-back, the team chose to rest him Thursday, potentially saving him for Friday in Sacramento.

He recently returned with 29 points against Houston and followed up with a win over Sacramento, though coach Steve Kerr said he “looked a little rusty.”

“The second game back to me is always harder to the first,” Kerr said. “When you’re coming back, the first one, you get that adrenaline. … Tonight, I felt like there was a little bit of a letdown for the whole team … and Steph was part of that with a couple of poor decisions.”

The Warriors are 13-25 without Curry this season compared to 24-17 when he plays.
