Chennai Super Kings have confirmed that there will be no replacement for injured skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, who has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2025 due to an elbow injury. MS Dhoni will lead CSK in the absence of Ruturaj Gaikwad for the remainder of the season.
However, there were concerns and speculations over Gaikwad’s replacement, but Chennai Super Kings’ head coach Stephen Fleming made it clear that they will rely on the existing squad to step up. He also hinted that the franchise might consider strengthening the squad for future IPL seasons.
Stephen Fleming clears the air on Ruturaj Gaikwad’s replacement
Stephen Fleming said at the pre-match press conference, “We’ve got some good players in the squad that have been with us a while, so we’ll look from within first. But yeah, there is an opportunity to see how we can enhance the squad, probably moving forward into the subsequent year.”
