Steve Austin Says Life Too Full For New Podcasts, LA Knight Praises Maxxine’s WWE Rise

Steve Austin has thought about doing more interviews, but will not return right now because he is too busy with other projects.

During a recent appearance on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Austin revealed that although he is retired from wrestling, he is still very active with racing, his beer business, his cats, and hunting with his brother-in-law.

Austin enjoys seeing fan memes about his WWE run on Instagram and says they help him remember the pops, the camaraderie, and his time in WWE.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On if he’s thought about doing interviews again: “Man, I thought about trying to get back into it, but I got a lot of stuff going on the side. I mean hell, I found out — I retired for a minute and I’m still retired, I’m retired from from the WWF or from from wrestling. But man, I’m as busy now as I’ve ever been just doing stuff that I’m trying to do.

“So to try to put in the time and effort to do an interview and do research, it’s just — you know, there’s phases in your life where you do things. And there was a phase in my life where I lived in LA for 19 years. Hell, I can’t believe I made it over there for 19 years, but I did it. So at this phase in my life, I’m focused on racing. I’m focused on the beer business. I’m focused on the solid ass cats and hunting with my brother-in-law. I just have a lot of things going on that that’s not where I’m at right now.”

On still being beloved by the fanbase: “Don’t get me wrong, man. They make all these memes on IG and I’ll put one on my stories or whatever. So, I get a chance to relive that **** every here and there. And I don’t do it to be an egoomaniac, but ****, people are making them and that’s what I was known for. I’ll post them on on my Instagram. So it’s cool to see that stuff and remember the good times and the pops and the camaraderie, and just the lifestyle.

“Man, that was the best job I ever had. And you, know it’s over and it’s been over for a long time, so I have moved on. But it’s cool to see some of the **** that they put together.”

During a recent interview with Esteban Ramirez, LA Knight praised Maxxine Dupri, saying she has come a long way since joining the WWE main roster.

Knight admitted Maxxine was not ready at first and was thrown in too fast, but feels she handled it well.

Knight added that Maxxine is still evolving and praised her for winning the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title this early in her career.

You can check out some highlights from the interview below:

On Maxxine Dupri’s progress: “She’s come a long way. Because I mean in all honesty – and this is no fault of her own – when she was first brought up, if we’re just being 100%, she was not ready. And I think she would admit that, 100%. And again, that’s not her fault, and she kinda just got thrown to the wolves. And she’s done well.”

On Maxxine Dupri getting the audience behind her: “Of course, it hasn’t been perfect, but it never is. Nobody can be perfect. I’m not perfect. Nobody’s perfect, everybody has their mess-ups. But when you’re talking about somebody coming in completely unprepared, and in this amount of time, being able to get the fan support, and then beyond that she’s already been Intercontinental Champion at this point. I’d say that’s a pretty major come-up. So good for her.”

On working with AJ Styles: “AJ’s intense, man. AJ’s super, super intense. When you get to know him, super nice guy though, too. So all around, don’t have a bad thing to say about him.

On his history with AJ Styles: “Of course, we got into some pretty physical and, at times, fun altercations. So all good on my end. You know, we kind of took the piss out of each other a few different times. And if you look at that time when we actually got in the fight there at that press gaggle, we both took our shots. He slammed me pretty hard on the floor. And if you notice, he left with a bloody nose.

“So I mean, we weren’t afraid to mix it up in there. We weren’t afraid to take our shots. And I like that, and I like the intensity that he brings. I’m sure that he probably appreciates what I was bringing to that. But AJ, talk about a guy deserving? Understatement.”
