Steve Maclin Injury Update Raises Concussion Concern After TNA Sacrifice Main Event Stoppage

Steve Maclin’s night at TNA Sacrifice took a scary turn, and now a backstage update is raising concern that the TNA star may have suffered a concussion during the main event.

The TNA World Title match against Mike Santana was stopped early after Santana landed a superkick that hit Maclin hard. The referee immediately paused the match, and medical staff rushed to check on Maclin before helping him to the back.

While fans inside the building were left confused by the sudden stoppage, a new update has made it clear the situation was not part of the show and was taken seriously from the start.

According to PWInsider, the early belief backstage was that Maclin may have suffered a concussion after the superkick connected. The report noted that the issue was legitimate and that Maclin was checked by medical staff as soon as he got backstage. The update explained that the referee’s quick reaction played a key role in stopping the match before things could get worse, and that steps were taken immediately once Maclin showed signs of being hurt.

“Obviously, Steve Maclin was injured early into his main event match with Mike Santana tonight. The early belief is he may have suffered a concussion, but that is not confirmed as of this writing. He unfortunately got rocked with the superkick when it connected. It was a legitimate issue and Maclin was getting checked out backstage once he was brought there. Eddie Edwards ran out to try and give the audience something to make up for the main event being stopped. A lot of credit should go to the referee for calling for the match to be paused and for TNA doing the right thing in an unfortunate situation taking place at the worst possible moment.”

Right now, there has been no official confirmation that Maclin suffered a concussion, but the early concern backstage shows how serious the moment was. With Maclin playing a major role in the TNA World Title picture, his condition could have a big impact on what happens next. Ringside News will continue to keep you updated as information becomes available.

Do you think the referee made the right call stopping the match immediately, and how should TNA handle things if Steve Maclin ends up missing time? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
