TNA Sacrifice came to an abrupt end as Steve Maclin was unfit to continue the match. Steve Maclin challenged Mike Santana for the TNA Championship in the Main Event of what was a hot show in New Orleans. After a back-and-forth exchange, Mike Santana leveled Steve Maclin with a Superkick. Immediately, the former Marine Corps vet got stiff as a board and fell into the ropes. Thankfully, referee Alice Lane stepped in to stop the match. Here’s the latest Steve Maclin update following his health scare.

Referee Alice Lane Ends Match Following OVW Referee Incident

We are just a couple of weeks removed from the unfortunate incident in OVW where referee Dallas Edwards had a seizure in the ring. This tragic incident happened due to a head injury caused by a spot during the match. Dallas Edwards suffered a subdural hematoma, or brain bleed.

OVW was put under heavy scrutiny for the wrestlers working around him. One wrestler, Tony Evans, even physically moved the referee out of the way while the seizure episode was happening.

After the incident, OVW released a statement that it would train its team to handle these situations in the ring properly. Apparently, TNA somehow got the memo. As soon as Mike Maclin went stiff, TNA referee Alice Lane intervened.

Mike Santana Knocks Out Steve Maclin

The TNA Sacrifice 2026 Main Event came to a sudden halt when an injury occurred in the Mike Santana vs. Steve Maclin match. Steve Maclin came off the ropes to nail Santana with a clubbing blow. This impact caused Santana to bounce back with a hefty Superkick to Steve Maclin’s head, knocking his lights out in the process.

Mike Santana’s back was to Maclin as the former TNA Champion fell to the ropes. So, the Proud One wouldn’t have noticed the injury right away and could have done further damage.

However, Alice Lane stepped in between. She threw up the X signal with her forearms and put an end to the match.

While the crowd was disappointed, TNA tried to send them home happy. The System’s Eddie Edwards came down to attack the TNA Champion. Mike Santana would fight his foe off, Frog Splashing him through a table.
