With WrestleMania 42 getting closer, WWE is going all out to make the weekend feel huge. As always, the company is bringing in some of its biggest names, and now it has been officially confirmed that Stone Cold Steve Austin will be appearing.
There were already reports floating around that Austin was involved in many WWE projects, but nothing was clear. That mystery was finally cleared up on this week’s episode of WWE RAW.
RAW already had plenty going on, like AJ Lee’s return and the announcement of her Women’s Intercontinental Championship match against Becky Lynch at Elimination Chamber. Still, another big update came later in the show when Michael Cole shared news about WrestleMania weekend.
Cole announced that WWE’s fan-focused experience, WWE World, will take place in Las Vegas from April 16 to April 20. He confirmed that Steve Austin will be part of the event. Not long after, WWE partner Fanatics also confirmed Austin’s appearance and put all doubts to rest.
Could Steve Austin Wrestle During WrestleMania 42 Weekend?
While Austin is officially scheduled to appear at WWE World, there is no confirmation yet on whether he will wrestle at WrestleMania 42. Even so, fans would be hoping he could return to the ring for the first time since WrestleMania 38, when he faced Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred match, which was his first match in almost 20 years.
Austin previously appeared at WrestleMania 41 to announce the attendance. That moment went viral after he accidentally crashed his ATV into the ringside barricade and knocked over a fan.
Oh hell yeah. You heard it on RAW. Now it’s official. ??
