Playoff hopes and seeding are on the line as the Elite Ice Hockey League moves into another Friday night double-header.
This weekend takes the league from game 217 to 226 of the 270-game regular season.
In Manchester, Storm turn the clock back to the 1990s when they host Dundee Stars in the first of this season’s Retro Nights. Storm will honour the club’s 1997/98 away jersey for the evening. On the ice, Manchester have seen their cushion in fifth place evaporate over the past month and now hold just a two-point advantage over Guildford. Dundee are all but out of the playoff race after defeat on Wednesday. A loss here, combined with other results going against them, would see Stars officially eliminated from post-season contention with 10 games still to play.
In Glasgow, Clan could secure their playoff place with a win over Guildford Flames, provided Dundee also lose. Clan are now playing for position as the regular season enters its final stretch, currently sitting eighth which would see them face the league champions in the opening round. Guildford secured their playoff place on Wednesday when Dundee lost in Nottingham, and they arrive this weekend just two points outside the top five after excellent recent form that has included wins over both Nottingham and Sheffield.
