As per the latest reports, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will keep Heinrich Klaasen, Pat Cummins and Abhishek Sharma before the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auctions.
As mentioned by ESPNcricinfo, Carl Heinrich von Klaasen will be the most retained player for SRH, who will be paid INR 23 Crores. Team India’s Pat Cummins, who was the captain in IPL 2024, will be retained for INR 18 Crores, while an Indian player Abhishek Sharma will be paid INR 14 Crores.
The report further states that SRH may also want to continue with Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy.
October 31 is the last date for the retentions, in the run up to mega auction for IPL 2025, which will take place later this year.
The IPL Governing Council has given policy to all the franchises to keep up to a maximum of 6 players by retention or Right to Match options.
A franchise may however choose to combine its Retentions and Right to Match as follows: either one or more Indain or foreign players, However, the six retentions/RTMs shall consist of a minimum of five capped players (Indian or Overseas) and a maximum of 2 uncapped players
The walet for the aides has been fixed at a maximum of INR 120 Crore for IPL 2025 and the salary cap will now include the auction purse plus incremental performance pay and match fees, and at least one auction will still go on. In the previous year, 2024, the salary cap was set at Ro. 110 cr( auction money plus additional performance incentives), in 2025 it will be 146 Cr, in 2026 151 Cr and in 2027 157 Cr.
