Suryakumar Yadav has spoken about the rumours regarding him potentially replacing Hardik Pandya as the captain of Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Both Surya and Pandya are considered to be top-level players in the Indian T20I team. While Surya dominates oppositions with his batting powers, Pandya helps the team in both batting and bowling to deliver game-changing moments.
Social media has been recently taken by a storm with rumours regarding Surya being appointed as the new captain of MI. In a pre-match conference, he was directly questioned about IPL captaincy. Surya responded in a humorous manner.
“Aapne googly daal diya (You just bowled a googly to me). Really enjoying this new role. When I was playing under Rohit bhai’s captaincy in MI, I used to give my inputs whatever I felt at that time. Baaki dekhte hain (Let’s see the rest). Let’s see what’s in store for the future. You will get to know in due course of time,” he said.
