Recently appointed Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has set his aim to make a Test cricket comeback. Surya, who made his Test debut during 2023 Border Gavaskar Trophy, is looking forward to represent India in all three formats of the game.
Surya has confirmed his participation in the Buchi Babu Tournament to further on improve his preparations for the upcoming Test series against Australia in December. While playing under Sarfaraz Khan, he aims to gain value match practice in the longer format of the game.
Surya has confirmed his appearance for the second half of the Buchi babu Tournament, as he represents team Mumbai. Initially being absent from the squad, Surya has expressed he is willing to play under the captaincy of Sarfaraz Khan. He is expected to make his debut against Jammu and Kashmir on August 27. He believes participating in the Buchi Babu Tournament will help in his preparation for the red-ball season.
“I want to play for India in all three formats. Playing in Buchi Babu will give me good practice for the red-ball tournaments this season,” Suryakumar said.
