Despite a commendable performance, a less-than-ideal first series in the standing position, where he managed a score of 95, proved to be a setback. He eventually finished in the eleventh position with a total score of 589 points.
China’s Liu Yukun stole the show in the qualification round, setting a new Olympic qualification record with an outstanding score of 594 points. However, the day witnessed a surprising turn of events as Du Linshu, the holder of the World qualification record, failed to make the cut.
