Iga Swiatek is in Mallorca this week at Rafael Nadal’s tennis academy. The four-time French Open champion recently started working with new coach Francisco Roig, who was part of Nadal’s team from 2005 through 2022.

Both Swiatek and Nadal made posts on social media referencing Thursday’s clay-court training session.

The Spaniard wrote, “Welcome back to the Rafa Nadal Academy! Enjoy your time here! We hope you feel at home.”

Swiatek responded via Instagram Stories, “Thanks for having us. So nice to be back!”

Swiatek recently split from Wim Fissette on the heels of a disappointing start to her 2026 campaign. The fourth-ranked Pole owns a 12-6 record and has not advanced past the quarterfinals of any tournament.

“I’ve decided to take a different path,” Swiatek explained when she announced that decision last week. “It was an intense time full of challenges and many important experiences. I’m grateful for his support, experience, and everything we achieved together — including one of my biggest dreams in sport…. The rest of my team remains unchanged. I know there are many questions, but I’ll let you know what’s next at the right time.”

That time turned out to be Thursday.

Following her stint in Mallorca, the 24-year-old is scheduled to begin her clay-court swing at the WTA 500 in Stuttgart. It takes place April 13-19.
