Tadej Pogačar Debuts New Scicon Sports Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium Cycling Sunglasses with Strade Bianche Victory

Over the weekend, Tadej Pogačar asserted his dominance yet again and soloed to a record-setting fourth victory at Strade Bianche. The reigning World Champion showed that he’s up to speed with another decisive victory on Tuscany’s infamous pale gravel roads. And, he — along with the rest of the UAE team — did it in Scicon Sports’ latest cycling sunglasses, the Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium.

Scicon’s new Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium sunglasses launched just a couple of days ago, and it certainly didn’t take long for them to land on the podium with Tadej in 1st and UAE teammate Isaac Del Toro in 3rd. To be fair, Tadej Pogačar probably could have raced in some gas station sunglasses and still won, but high-quality performance eyewear was likely a huge benefit in his record-breaking effort last Saturday.

Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium Details

The new Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium is an updated and refined version of the brand’s longstanding Aeroshade sunglasses, which have been a staple in the pro peloton since they came out in 2020. The 2.0 Titanium builds on that foundation and evolves with advanced materials, a revised frame design, integrated micro-ventilation ports, and Scicon’s signature bold aesthetics.

As the name suggests, one of the primary updates to the Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium is the move to titanium temples. Renowned for its durability, the temples on these new glasses are crafted from a solid titanium rod that’s undergone “more than 20 precision manufacturing steps.” According to Scicon, “every detail is engineered to deliver controlled flexibility, lasting comfort, and uncompromising race-level performance.”

Additionally, Scicon states that the front frame has been redesigned with a more modern, streamlined shape to express a bold, contemporary look. This new shape also integrates “micro ventilation ports to improve airflow and reduce fogging during intense efforts.” On top of that, new Flexifit 2.0 nosepads are reportedly both soft and highly adaptable, conforming to varying face shapes, while the Horizon Adapt height adjustment system allows the rider to optimize the field of view.

The Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium sunglasses come with Scicon’s Hi-Contrast mirrored or photochromic cylindrical lenses. They’re offered in a wide range of base tints and reflective coatings, with varying filter categories and VLT percentages to suit different needs, preferences, and light conditions. According to Scicon, “the Hi-Contrast technology enhances details in low-visibility conditions, improves terrain definition, amplifies contrast while maintaining a neutral color profile, and reduces eye fatigue during long rides.” The lenses are also coated with a Nanotech hydrophobic and oleophobic coating to shed water and oils and maintain clear vision.

The Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium is compatible with Scicon’s AC028 optical insert. The glasses come with a spare lens, a microfiber bag, and a protective hard case, which apparently converts into a saddle bag.
