Takeshita is so damn good that he proved the spoilers wrong in AEW’s C2

Tonight’s (Nov. 27) special Thanksgiving episode of AEW Collision featured the last two matches in week one of the 2025 Continental Classic tournament.

First up was PAC defeating “Speedball” Mike Bailey to kick off the show. Bailey passed out in the Brutalizer, giving PAC three points in the Gold League. However, if I was scoring this thing, I would have given Bailey three points for this spot alone.

The Bastard’s victory means all three Death Riders in the tournament (PAC, Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli) were perfect in week one, with each man securing three points. That perfect run will come to an end next week (Dec. 3) on Dynamite because Moxley and Castagnoli are scheduled to face each other. PAC also has a big problem on his hands on Wednesday, because he’s facing the tournament favorite, AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada.

In the Collision main event, IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Konosuke Takeshita defeated Roderick Strong with Raging Fire to score his first three points in the Blue League. I don’t know how Strong finished the bout after taking this crazy bump.

Takeshita is so damn good that he found a way to win despite an initial spoiler report that said he actually lost the match. That’s what resiliency and persistence are all about right there. Even Okada doesn’t know how to do that.

Here are the updated standings with Week One of the 2025 Continental Classic in the books, and the heels off to a dominating start.

Kyle Fletcher (1-0-0): 3 points
Kevin Knight (1-0-0): 3
PAC (1-0-0): 3
Speedball Mike Bailey (0-1-0): 0
Darby Allin (0-1-0): 0
Kazuchika Okada (0-1-0): 0

Claudio Castagnoli (1-0-0): 3 points
Jon Moxley (1-0-0): 3
Konosuke Takeshita (1-0-0): 3
Roderick Strong (0-1-0): 0
Orange Cassidy (0-1-0): 0
Mascara Dorada (0-1-0): 0
