Team India will lock horns against Prime Minister’s XI in a 2-day fixture. Along with the original schedule, additional fixture has been added to India’s tour of Australia. The match has been scheduled to be played at Manuka Oval in Canberra and will take place from November 30 to December 1. This match will be played between first and second Test of the nearcoimng Border-Gavaskar Trophy taking place in Australia.
This is a day-night match and will help India in gaining the much-required practice against the pink ball under the lights before the second Test of the series, set to be played in Adelaide. India and Australia will clash in a 5-Test series for the first time since 1991-92. First Test is scheduled to be played at Perth Stadium from November 22 and will end on November 26. Last year, Australia took the World Test Championship title as they beat India by 209 runs at The Oval, and will be hoping to to defend this title in the one-off Test held at Lord’s in 2025.
In the last 2 seasons, the Prime Minister’s XI fixture had a 4-day contest which featured West Indies in 2022 and Pakistan in 2023. These were traditionally restricted to a limited-overs match, but the India game has been restricted to just two days.
