Team India receives a grand welcome as they arrive in Delhi for the second T 20

The Indian cricket team received an extravagant welcome in Delhi since it was their first visit ahead of the second T20I match against Bangladesh on the 7th of October 2019, Monday. India leads this series 1-0 following a clear and comfortable victory achieved in Gwalior on the 6th day of October, Sunday. In case the hosts manage to get past Bangladesh at the Arun Jaitley stadium on Wednesday, they will be able to win the series.

The BCCI shared the video of the team making the trip from Gwalior to Delhi. With captain Suryakumar Yadav and coach Gautam Gambhir, the members of the team were seeming pretty confident before the commencement of the second T20I. As they headed to the capital, the players were seen having a good time, cracking a joke or two. When they reached the city, quite a few fans emerged from the territory and awed the roads hoping to catch a view of the stars.

On arriving at the hotel, the Indian team were greeted with dhol and the band had special calls for every player identifiable. Rinku Singh was treated with the chant “oh Rinku” along with some drum beats which made the south-paw very pleased.

As for the captain Suryakumar, the functions would dig a bit deeper and refer to Suryakumar as a national idol.

“India ki shaan, Suryakumar, (India’s pride Suryakumar),” the band professed.

This caused a wide grin to appear on the face of the star batter, who then went on to perform a couple of bhangra steps in rhythm with the dhol. Full video can be seen below.

The inexperienced Indian squad gave a decent account of themselves in the first T20I completely annihilating their Bangladesh counterparts. Powered with brilliant spells of bowling by Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakravarthy, both of whom got 3 wickets each, the tourists were all out for a meager 127 runs.

India went on to chase the score with 7 wickets left and 49 balls still as Hardik Pandya gave an exhilarating performance of 39 runs off 16 balls.
