Team India to play Pakistan in this major tournament, Check the details inside

After 7 years, the renowned Hong Kong International Cricket Sixes which has seen sports greats such as Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, MS Dhoni, and many others will be making a comeback. The tournament is being held under the auspices of Cricket Hong Kong, China (CHK) A 2024 edition is set for November 1st to 3rd, and will take place at the Tin Kwong Road Cricket Ground. The tournament will also see 12 nations participating over a span of three days and China Cricket Hong Kong has revealed that the Indian cricket team will also be a part of the competition.

On Monday evening, X, a microblogging platform, shared the news on team India’s participation on behalf of Cricket Hong Kong, China which stated, ‘Team India is gearing up to smash it out of the park at HK6’..

Each team shall be made of 6 players in accordance with the HK6 Format. A match includes at most five six-ball overs per side for a team. All the fielders with the exception of the wicketkeeper will bowl one over each. However during the final of the tournament, each team will have five eight-ball overs.

Pakistan have also unveiled a six-player team for the Hong Kong Sixes . All-rounder Faheem Ashraf will captain the team in this eight-team competition. Senior batter Asif Ali and left-handed batter Hussain Talat are also part of the squad.

The Hong Kong Cricket Sixes, an internationally recognized six-a-side cricket tournament, has managed to take its place in the cricketing world ever since its inception back in 1992. The event is organized by Cricket Hong Kong and it is endorsed by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The event however attracts a lot of attention due to the suicidal matches and the high scores that are designed for the television audiences.

The other highly acclaimed teams are South Africa, England and Pakistan which have all won the title on five different occasions. The last victory for South Africa came in 2017 when they faced Pakistan in the title showdown. The other past champions of this event include countries such as Sri Lanka, Australia, and the West Indies as well as India
