Jazza Dickens vs Anthony Cacace set for Dublin showdown

Dickens (36-5, 15 KOs) recorded a career-best win in his last fight, stopping the dangerous Russian fighter Albert Batyrgaziev. The Liverpudlian was elevated to the full WBA super featherweight champion after Lamont Roach Jr was stripped of the title.

Cacace (24-1, 9 KOs) dominated and stopped Leigh Wood last time out. Cacace’s career was revitalised following his impressive stoppage win over Joe Cordina, and this bout with Dickens gives the heavy-handed Belfast fighter the opportunity to win another world title.

Teddy Atlas has his say on Jazza Dickens vs Anthony Cacace

Dickens showed his ability last time out, using his jab effectively to close the distance, before landing the left hand. The Liverpudlian looks to apply pressure and work effectively on the inside. While not a big puncher, he did show he can hurt opponents when he stopped Batyrgaziev, and does have three stoppage wins in his last four fights. He will look to use his experience and take Cacace out of his comfort zone.

Cacace is the taller fighter and will look to work his jab before letting his right hand go. Despite his KO record, Cacace has heavy hands. The Belfast man is comfortable fighting on the inside or on the outside. This versatility and heavy hands will make it difficult for Dickens to pin him down. He showed against Cordina how dangerous he is when he lets his hands go.

Via The Ropes, Atlas said: “I like the dimensions and options of Cacace to get it done.”
